Bruce graduated with his undergraduate degree from University of
Louisville in 1969 with a B.S. in Commerce. He then attended lawschool at U. of L., graduating in the spring of 1972 and was sworn in to practice in the fall of 1972. Since
then, Bruce has built a solid practice in the areas of criminal defense, family law, personal injury and general civil litigation.
Bruce is a staunch advocate for children and families involved in the court system due to child abuse and neglect, having
worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for 23 years after helping to start the Louisville chapter of CASA. Bruce was nationally recognized for his service to CASA in 2007.
Bruce was also appointed as a parent's attorney in cases involving dependency, abuse and neglect issues and served in that capacity in Jefferson County Family Court for 5 years. Now, much of
Bruce's practice focuses on assisting families through divorce, custody, paternity and other family court matters with compassion and dedication.
Bruce also focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense and plaintiff's personal injury, where he has been zealously
fighting for fairness and justice for his clients for over 40 years.
Bruce is married with two grown sons (one of them married to Jane) and two grandchildren. He is a dedicated family man
and an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan.
Jane received her undergraduate degree from University of Kentucky in 1994 and also received a Masters in Social Work from U.K. in 1998, Magna Cum
Laude. Jane worked in the social work field from 1995 until returning to lawschool at the University of Louisville in 2002.
During lawschool, Jane
was a member of the Brandeis Law Journal as a member and editor and was a member of the Brandeis Society for academic achievement. Jane graduated in 2005, Cum Laude, and started a job
with a large firm in downtown Louisville, where she worked until she decided to start a family.
Jane joined Bruce in 2009
and they formed Prizant Law Office as a successor to Friedman, Prizant and Yoffe. Jane's practice focuses mainly on family law, which puts her years in social work practice to good
use. She also focuses her practice in plaintiff's personal injury law, simple estate planning and general civil litigation.
Jane is married to one of
Bruce's sons and they have two children.
